SCOUTS BSA TROOP 279

ESCAPE THE INDOORS

Scouts BSA is the traditional Scouting experience where kids can have their share of adventure in the great outdoors.

Develop a love of service by volunteering in your community, boost your leadership skills through fun and exciting challenges, and create memories of a lifetime with no prior Scouting experience required!

At Troop 279 we are strong believers in the ability of our youth to succeed.

Our programming and activities are designed to help our youth reach their goals and fulfill their highest potential. We are proud of all our Scouts, and love watching them grow into bright-minded and confident individuals. See how we’re involved in making a difference in our children’s lives

COME VISIT US

We meet every Wednesday at 7:00 pm at the Point of Rocks Community Center in the Edward Fry Memorial Library.

OUTDOOR SKILLS

In the outdoors, youth have opportunities to acquire skills that make them more self-reliant. They can explore canoe and hiking trails and complete challenges they first thought were beyond their ability. There is no greater teacher than the great outdoors.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Scout-age youth experience dramatic physical and emotional growth. Scouting offers them opportunities to channel much of that change into productive endeavors and to find the answers they are seeking for many of their questions.

TIMELESS VALUES

Scouting programs instill in youth the values found in the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Scouting helps youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills, and citizenship skills that influence their adult lives.

FOUNDATION OF SCOUTING

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.
